January 21, 2025, Changchun—The award ceremony of the "Ice and Snow Craftsmanship · Art Jilin" Ice and Snow Sculpture Creative Competition, guided by the Jilin Provincial Party Committee’s Publicity Department and jointly organized by the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Culture and Art Development Promotion Association’s Ice and Snow Culture Committee, was successfully held at the Qingyifang Yunlang Art Center in Changchun. The event showcased the innovative vitality and cultural charm of Jilin’s ice and snow art through sculptures, photography, and short videos, further promoting international artistic exchange and high-quality development of Jilin’s cultural tourism industry.

  The competition attracted top artists from China, Russia, Mongolia, South Korea, Italy, and other countries, fostering cross-cultural dialogue through ice and snow art. Renowned sculptors and experts, including Yin Xiaofeng (Special Sculptor at the Chinese National Academy of Arts), Russian sculptor Vladimir Vitalyevich Basukov, and other industry leaders, formed the jury to ensure professional and authoritative evaluations.

  Since its launch, the competition has inspired a surge of creativity across the province. The photography category received 1,451 entries, awarding 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 16 excellence awards. The short video category saw 107 submissions, with 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 4 third prizes, and 2 excellence awards. In the ice and snow sculpture category, 40 international and domestic artist teams created 25 ice sculptures and 15 snow sculptures, with 1 grand prize, 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 6 third prizes awarded.

  By blending regional characteristics with global elements, the competition not only highlighted the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage but also contributed to the spiritual and economic growth of Jilin. As a platform for artistic innovation and cultural exchange, this event demonstrated that ice and snow art transcends boundaries, telling stories that belong to both China and the world.
